Amaani Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Amaani Restaurant, nestled on Lees Road in Ashton-under-Lyne, feels like entering a warmly embraced gathering where thoughtful details meet genuine hospitality. The space is thoughtfully designed—spacious yet intimate—with a quiet elegance that doesn’t distract from the simple joy of sharing a meal. Soft lighting and tasteful decor set a comfortable, unhurried mood that invites guests to settle in and savor each moment.
This is a place where the rhythm feels steady and inviting, perfectly suited to both relaxed dinners and special occasions with family or close friends. The staff move with calm attentiveness, balancing professionalism with a warmth that makes you feel as though you’re among familiar faces. It’s clear that no effort is spared to create an environment that’s welcoming without pretension, clean without stiffness.
At Amaani, the food gently unfolds as an authentic journey rather than a checklist. The aroma of tandoori spices mingles with the soft sizzle of freshly grilled meats, while the rich colors and textures hint at meals crafted with care and confidence. Each dish invites discovery—whether it’s a carefully balanced curry or a smoky platter from the tandoor—offering familiar flavors with subtle twists. Alongside classic choices, there’s room to explore vibrant starters and thoughtful accompaniments that elevate the experience beyond the expected.
Diners often find themselves returning not just for the dishes but for the quiet rhythms of the place—the way it accepts different pace, moods, and occasions. Whether it’s a casual night out without a reservation or a special celebration with a large party, Amaani creates space for everyone to feel comfortably seen and well looked after.
In a neighborhood with many options, Amaani quietly holds its place as more than a spot for a curry; it’s a local landmark where food and atmosphere come together gently, making each visit feel like a shared human moment rather than just a meal.

Amazing food and atmosphere. No expense spared on the building and interior. Extremely tasty food and drinks, attentive and friendly staff. Best curry house I know.

Our first time at Amaani having been recommended to try it. We were very pleased that we did. The staff were excellent, polite and attentive but not pushy. The food was as described so you did not receive an unexpectedly over or under spicy dish and the choice was extensive. The surroundings are spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. Best of all the price was lower than we expected. We do not live near Oldham ( about 250 miles away ) but we visit quite often and will return.

My go to curry house. The food is always amazing, staff friendly and attentive. I have been to many Indian restaurants in and around Tameside, none even come close to this place!

We visited Amaani on a Saturday evening without a booking they were more than happy to accommodate us. The staff are friendly and I asked the waiter what he recommended and OMG it was absolutely the best curry I have ever tried. It was a specialty curry and the chicken had been pasted through flour and the fried and added to the curry Highly recommend and I will be visiting again soon

Sometimes it is hit and miss (more hits than misses) but I went with my cousin and a few elderly relatives for my birthday on Sunday. The service was amazing ESPECIALLY because my elderly relatives are VERY awkward. We ordered a few different dishes and it all tasted very good, there wasn't a single complaint about any of it. I'm contemplating having my mum's 70th in there in September and that will be very difficult and the elders will be awkward as always but I'm sure if anyone can handle it, it's these guys. If there is one gripe we had a comment by some horrible customers outside just before we entered but that's not the restaurant's fault. I suppose anywhere can attract simpletons. The good thing was that it didn't ruin the night as the food and the service was top notch! Oh and they accidentally overcharged us and we didn't realise but they came out in the car park to get us to give us the difference back!
